# Assignment 1(Spring 2015)

CIRCUIT THEORY (PHY301)

MARKS: 30

Due Date: May 14, 2015

DON’T MISS THESE Important instructions:

• To solve this assignment, you should have good command over first 6 lectures.
• Upload assignments properly through LMS, (No Assignment will be accepted through email).
•  Write your ID on the top of your solution file.
• All students are directed to use the font and style of text as is used in this document.
• Don’t use colorful back grounds in your solution files.
• Use Math Type or Equation Editor etc for mathematical symbols.
• This is not a group assignment, it is an individual assignment so be careful and avoid copying others’ work. If some assignment is found to be copy of some other, both will be awarded zero marks. It also suggests you to keep your assignment safe from others. No excuse will be accepted by anyone if found to be copying or letting others copy.
• Don’t wait for the last date to submit your assignment.
• You can draw circuit diagrams in “Paint” or in “Corel Draw” or in circuit maker. The simple and easy way is to copy the given image in Paint and do the required changes in it.

### Q.2. For the given circuit

1)      Find the total resistance for the circuit in the figure below

2)      Calculate the current through each resistance.

3)      Calculate the power dissipated by each resistance.

Q.3. Give the brief answers

a)      Tell some materials in your home through which electricity can pass and through whichcannot pass.

b)      Two resistances of 5Ω and 10Ω are connected in series of a 12V battery. What will be current flowing through each resistance?

c)      In the given figure, do you think bulbs are in parallel or in series? How current and voltage will divide in bulbs.

Our main purpose here discussion not just Solution

We are here with you hands in hands to facilitate your learning and do not appreciate the idea of copying or replicating solutions.

Finding resistance

There are basically three different types of circuits that the resistor can be in.

Series

In this situation, to find the total resistance is to basically add up all the resistor values.

a)      Tell some materials in your home through which electricity can pass and through which cannot pass.

Electricity can pass through some materials - these are called conductors. Materials through which electricity cannot pass are called insulators. Plastic is a good insulator and so this is why plastic is used for the insulation around electric wires. Electricity can pass through some objects better than through others. Conductors are materials through which electrons can travel more freely. Copper, aluminium, steel and other metals are good conductors. So are some liquids like saltwater. Insulators are materials in which electrons cannot move around. They stay in place. Glass, rubber, plastic or dry wood are good insulators. They are important for your safety, because without them, you couldn’t touch a hot pan or plug in a TV set.

Two resistances of 5Ω and 10Ω are connected in series of a 12V battery. What will be current flowing through each resistance?

5Ω+10Ω =15Ω

12V/15Ω = 0.8A

Anyone tell me!!! 2nd part ka solution ha theek ha ya?

No This Answer Is Not Right.... Table Theek Nai Hy Or Values B

aj last date hy or abhi tk kisi ny thk se solution nhi nikla
