### Q.2. For the given circuit

1)      Find the total resistance for the circuit in the figure below

2)      Calculate the current through each resistance.

3)      Calculate the power dissipated by each resistance.

a)      Tell some materials in your home through which electricity can pass and through whichcannot pass.

b)      Two resistances of 5Ω and 10Ω are connected in series of a 12V battery. What will be current flowing through each resistance?

c)      In the given figure, do you think bulbs are in parallel or in series? How current and voltage will divide in bulbs.

hence it is a series-parallel circuits

so to calculate its total rasistans RT first add parallel circuits as

1/R1+1/R3+1/R7+1/R6+1/R2

1/8Ω+1/8Ω+1/6Ω+1/6Ω+1/15Ω

0.125+0.125+0.16+0.16+0.067 = 0.637

1/0.637= 1.569Ω

R4+R5

7Ω+2Ω= 9Ω

so, TR= 1.569Ω+9Ω=10.569Ω

calculate the current through each resistance

the same 20A current is flowing 10Ω and at point A divided in to two parts 2Ωis in series with 3Ω and parallel with 5Ω so ,

the current flowing through 5Ω resistor is

5/5+5*20

5/10*20

I= 10A
