Objective:

 

After the completion of the assignment students will be able to:

 

  • Comprehend the technique of token economy 
  • Devise token economy management plan for different situations 

Suppose you are conducting a remedial reading program with a group of four grade students whose reading skills are not as good as their fellows were. Their class teacher requested you to start a reading program in which the students improve their reading ability by sharpening their skills of word identification by reading the short passages aloud and answer the comprehensive questions. 

You just started the reading class with a group of students identified by class teacher. You have told them that your class session will be comprised of 20 minutes in morning and 20 minutes during lunch time. You have just started the class and noticed that many of the students did not pay attention to your instructions. You are supposed to teach them the different strategies which improve their reading ability so you have decided to use token economy for their behavior modification and improving reading skills. 

Now you task is to design the token economy management plan that how you will implement with these students. Your plan will be comprised of following steps: 

 

  • Identification of behaviors needs improvement (3)
  • Schedule of reinforcement (3)
  • Nature of tokens (3)
  • Back up reinforcers (3)

Lastly, discuss how token economy technique will be faded after achieving the desired goal. (3)

 

Note:

Only in the case of Assignment, 24 hours extra / grace period after the due date is usually available to overcome uploading difficulties which may be faced by the students on last date.  This extra time should only be used to meet the emergencies and above mentioned due dates should always be treated as final to avoid any inconvenience.

  • For acquiring the relevant knowledge don’t rely only on handouts but watch the video lectures and use other reference books also.

  • The file you uploaded does not open or is corrupt
  • It is in any format other than doc (MS. Word)
  • It is cheated or copied from other students, internet, books, journals etc…

what I understood is that

Q2)Do we have to tell what type of reinforcement we will choose in this situation i.e Continuous or Partial reinforcement?

       No, here we can't mention disadvantages of token economy .

  This assignment is related to go to outcome studies . you read given scenario carefully .After read the scenario answer these question.

As i mention earlier this assignment is outcome study you go to any school and take some students of 4th grade which is selected by class teacher . Your task is to improve their reading abilities .

First you identify problematic behavior of both students who are selected for your reading program .Which problematic behavior they have from which they are distrub in their studies and from which problem they have lack of reading ability .May be they have lack of self confidence or may be from aggressive , disruptive or hyperactive behavior.......

After that you make schedule of reinforcement for these students . How you motivate them for improve reading abilities .These schedule of reinforcement like this .

Sit appropriately during class .

listen attentively to reader .

 discussion after reading .

Allow students to work together .

offer reward on good performance .

Back up reinforcement means : to gave rewards to clients for return of tokens which they earn during problematic behavior .
