Assignment Objectives:
Upon completion of this assignment, students will be able to
· Know the implications of Piaget’s theory in our culture
· Adapt instructions to the learner's developmental level
Question 01 (15)
You are supposed to select a child between the age of 7 to 11 years. For this purpose, you can go to any
school or select from your surroundings. According to Piaget, child between 7 to 11 years of age passes
through concrete operational stage. Concrete operational stage has certain characteristics or milestones
to achieve, i.e., classification, conservation, logic and reversibility etc.
You are required to choose one milestone of this stage and design one activity in order to assess whether
the child has achieved that milestone or not. Then you will perform that activity with the child and note
his/her responses. After conducting this activity, you will write your assignment in following manner.
Introduction (3)
In this part of assignment, you will introduce the child in terms of age, gender and grade. You will also
write about one milestone that you have chosen for this assignment. Following are some of the
milestones a child usually achieves during concrete operational stage.
· Conservation
· Reversibility
· Logical thinking
· Classification
You can choose any one of them.
Procedure (6)
In this section, you will write about the activity which you have designed to assess the particular
milestone and detailed procedure of carrying out this activity.
Conclusion (6)
In the last part of this assignment, you will give your findings about the cognitive development of the
child. You can discuss your point of view with reference to educational implications of Piaget’s theory.

Enlist any five qualities of a teacher which make students’ perceive him/her as a good teacher.
Note:
Only in the case of Assignment, 24 hours extra / grace period after the due date is
usually available to overcome uploading difficulties which may be faced by the students

Question 01 (15):       Introduction (3), Procedure (6), and Conclusion (6)

Answer:

 Introduction:

In this part of assignment, I am going to introduce the child between the ages of 7 to 11 years. For this purpose or activity I have chosen ___ , who is just around ___ years old in class ___.

For this assignment I have chosen the milestone of Concrete operational stage “Logical thinking” from four stages of Piage t’s theory. (Choose the milestone what you like)

 Logical thinking: Piaget determined that children in the concrete operational stage were fairly good at the use of inductive logic. Inductive logic involves going from a specific experience to a general principle. On the other hand, children at this age have difficulty using deductive logic, which involves using a general principle to determine the outcome of a specific event. (Write note on chosen milestone)

Procedure:       (mention your own activity, just take idea)

In this section, I will write about the activity which I have been designed to assess the particular milestone.

For this purpose I put in front of her one filled lunch box with a little free space, the big samosa and a small round sweet ball.

After that I asked to her to purpose for full the free space of lunch box easily, what should we are supposed to put in it the big samosa or a small round sweet ball?

After few minutes of thinking she said: the small sweet ball.

I asked again why this one? She replied; if we put in the big samosa in already filled having a little free space lunch box than lunch box can’t be closed easily, and if we put in it the small round sweet ball it will take a less place and will be adjusted easily.

Conclusion:              (say one, two line/s of Piaget’s theory and about your activity)

As in Piaget’s theory described the cognitive development of the child, in a logical fashion child learns to solve concrete problems and also children show logical thinking, involving “if- than” pattern of thinking at Concrete operational stage. So results came out from my activity same as it is mentioned in Piaget’s theory.

Enlist any five qualities of a teacher which make students’ perceive him/her as a good teacher

Answer: qualities of a teacher which make students’ perceive him/her as a good teacher are:

 

1st is one that explains lesson clearly, easy way and in details, well-informed with the different teaching methods, does a lot of translation

2nd is punctual and respects time

3rd speaks clearly, polite and has a good accent, speaks the language fluently

4th is patient, honest, relaxed; does not get angry, well mannered:, friendly, understanding,

5th give advice to students

6th is able to control class and involve students in class, invites the students to discuss the lesson, gives students the opportunity to talk to him/her in class

7th is makes tests and exams easy

8th shows respect towards his students and encourage students to be creative

9th helpful and respects students’ needs

10th is kind, caring and loving
