A major anti-positivist stance is interpretivism, which looks for ‘culturally derived and historically situated interpretations of the social life-world. There is no, direct, one-to-one relationship between ourselves (subjects) and the world (object). The world is interpreted through the classification schemas of the mind  In terms of epistemology, interpretivism is closely linked to constructivism. Interpretivism asserts that natural reality (and the laws of science) and social reality are different and therefore require different kinds of method.
