No? Same is the case with me. I was listening to Wave and Antenna’s lecture. The instructor was giving lecture very fluently. There was complete silence in the classroom. I was stunned due to his extra-ordinary speech. I am saying it speech because I found nothing logical in that. The thing which upset me is, some of the students were nodding. I mean how can they understand . To me the speech was not more than some different statements made up of electric field, magnetic field, attenuation and radiation pattern. Probably, I am saying this because I didn’t get the lecture. Oh Sorry! I am becoming diplomatic again. The truth is there is nothing in the lecture. Even if there is, the way he was delivering, totally spoiled his lecture. What I feel, the instructor is responsible for creating interest in his subject. As far as the material is concerned, it is always there in books.
In between I was asked a question. The question was: “Why we compared the ration with the isotropic antenna and how will you explain this in terms of radiation pattern?”
I replied: “Sir, the answer lies in the question. Actually, when we are aware of the Electric-Field, we can easily determined the Magnetic-Field. As far as the radiation pattern is concerned, it is always there when we talk about Electromagnetic Waves. Further, Isotropic Antenna is assumed to be the standard for comparison as it is ideal and there is no attenuation in ideal case.”
I said this all with full confidence. The instructor replied: ” Good gentleman! You were very close. Your assumptions are valid. SIT DOWN!”
That response made me clear that my assumptions were really right. It was not a lecture rather it was a speech comprising of terminologies.
