"Dogfighters" Morph WWII Planes with Furry Animals

Inspired by their love for both dogs and airplanes, digital production studio Ink created this playful series, entitled Dogfighters, that blends WWII planes with a selection of friendly, furry animals. The studio explains that the planes were "carefully paired with their canine counterparts in order to transform their familiar hard-edged, silhouettes into a more adorable craft; a beagle, a schnauzer and a golden retriever."

The visually captivating illustrations are set simply within a studio environment so that viewers can concentrate on the elaborate details. In each digital depiction, the studio successfully produced incredible combinations of both dog and plane without distinguishing between the two. Each animal's nose merges perfectly with propeller blades while clear airplane extensions are a disorienting blend of wings and fur. Viewers may become confused about whether they should give the dogs a friendly pet on the head or if they should climb on board the planes and journey off on an exciting aerial adventure.
