ONE more thing about msconfig>service tab.
you can also disable some system features which you never you.
2.Goto Mycomputer>Tools>folder option>view>and uncheck Automatically search for network folders and printer (only if you dont use them)

good brother.
some thing i want to add is that increacing the RAM you must also consider the PROCESSOR because it has to genrate the Addressess lower the processor and increase the ram will reduce the speed of system but you can only open more programes as the function of ram is to only load data which need or has been processed.
i am not sure but one must leave DHCP to do what it is for. in some cases it can Knock out you from the network.

now a days BIOS are auto but i bet it that now a days no one can install a modem in Windows NT on system P1 or lower than it.

If some one not uses a Lan then disable it in bios and other things which you dont use it will decrease the boot time very much.
