Mona Lisa is probably the most popular among the 5 famous paintings that we have listed. As most of know, it has been created by Leonardo Da Vinci. The artist spent about 20 years on creating this painting. It went everywhere with him. It was finished in 1519. The half smile of Mona Lisa has intrigued many people for centuries. It has been stolen twice from Lourve, Paris but has been recovered and can now be seen at the same place. About 6 million people come to see it every year.
Starry Night was created by Vincent Van Goh. It is one of the most famous pieces of Van Goh. It has become one of the famous pictures of modern culture. You can see the village of Saint-Remy under a starry sky in the picture. A big cypress tree can also be seen in the painting. It was not supposed to be in the painting but was added in the 1940s. The painting resides currently resides at Museum of Modern Art, New York.
The Scream is another highly famous painting of all time. This painting was created by Edvard Munch, who was a Norweign Artist. The artist created several versions of the painting through different media. They have been kept is different museums and galleries. The painting shows the pain and anguish of modern life.
