1- Allah Almighty's Divine Commands in the Glorious Quran:
Let us look at what Allah Almighty Said in the Glorious Quran regarding:
(a)- Lying and Deceiving:
Throughout the Glorious Quran, Allah Almighty spoke in 100s of Noble Verses about the liars and deceivers, and Promised them Hell Fire for their evil:"And for those who launch a charge against their spouses, and have (in support) no evidence but their own,- their solitary evidence (can be received) if they bear witness four times (with an oath) by God that they are solemnly telling the truth; And the fifth (oath) (should be) that they solemnly invoke the curse of God on themselves if they tell a lie. But it would avert the punishment from the wife, if she bears witness four times (with an oath) By God, that (her husband) is telling a lie; (The Noble Quran, 24:6-8)"
"Why did they not bring four witnesses to prove it? When they have not brought the witnesses, such men, in the sight of God, (stand forth) themselves as liars! (The Noble Quran, 24:13)"
"No vanity shall they hear therein (in Heaven), nor lying:- (The Noble Quran, 78:35)"
"God give thee grace! why didst thou grant them until those who told the truth were seen by thee in a clear light, and thou hadst proved the liars? (The Noble Quran, 9:43)"
"If any one disputes in this matter with thee, now after (full) knowledge Hath come to thee, say: "Come! let us gather together,- our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves: Then let us earnestly pray, and invoke the curse of God on those who lie!" (The Noble Quran, 3:61)"
"Yea, in their own (eyes) will become manifest what before they concealed. But if they were returned, they would certainly relapse to the things they were forbidden, for they are indeed liars. (The Noble Quran, 6:28)"
"The leaders of the Unbelievers among his people said: "Ah! we see thou art an imbecile!" and "We think thou art a liar!" (The Noble Quran, 7:66)"
"And there are those who put up a mosque by way of mischief and infidelity - to disunite the Believers - and in preparation for one who warred against God and His Apostle aforetime. They will indeed swear that their intention is nothing but good; But God doth declare that they are certainly liars. (The Noble Quran, 9:107)"
"And the Unbelievers say to those who believe: "Follow our path, and we will bear (the consequences) of your faults." Never in the least will they bear their faults: in fact they are liars! (The Noble Quran, 29:12)"
"Is it not to God that sincere devotion is due? But those who take for protectors other than God (say): "We only serve them in order that they may bring us nearer to God." Truly God will judge between them in that wherein they differ. But God guides not such as are false and ungrateful. (The Noble Quran, 39:3)"
"Ah! they will know on the morrow, which is the liar, the insolent one! (The Noble Quran, 54:26)"
(i)- A Scientific Miracle that addresses lying:
The following article was taken from: http://www.answering-christianity.com/detailed_meanings_of_scientif...:
Lying and deception are generated from the forehead:
|Noble Verse(s) 96:15-96:16|
[096:015] Nay! if he desist not, We
Transliteration:[096:015] Kalla la-in lam yantahi lanasfaAAan bialnnasiyati
[096:016] Nasiyatin kathibatin khati-atin
Arabic (from right to left):
96:15 كلا لئن لم ينته لنسفعا بالناصية
96:16 ناصية كاذبة خاطئة

الناصية (al-naasiyah): the forehead.
Why did the Quran describe the front of the head as being lying and sinful? Why didn’t the Quran say that the person was lying and sinful? What is the relationship between the front of the head and lying and sinfulness?
If we look into the skull at the front of the head, we will find the prefrontal area of the cerebrum (see figure 12). What does physiology tell us about the function of this area? A book entitled Essentials of Anatomy & Physiology says about this area, “The motivation and the foresight to plan and initiate movements occur in the anterior portion of the frontal lobes, the prefrontal area. This is a region of association cortex...” Also the book says, “In relation to its involvement in motivation, the prefrontal area is also thought to be the functional center for aggression....”
So, this area of the cerebrum is responsible for planning, motivating, and initiating good and sinful behavior and is responsible for the telling of lies and the speaking of truth. Thus, it is proper to describe the front of the head as lying and sinful when someone lies or commits a sin, as the Quran has said, “...A lying, sinful naseyah (front of the head)!”
Scientists have only discovered these functions of the prefrontal area in the last sixty years, according to Professor Keith L. Moore.

(b)- Taking credit and recognition that you do not deserve:
Let us look at what Allah Almighty Said in Noble Verse 3:188 about the weak-hearted who seek to earn false and unmerited worldly recognitions and credits to themselves:
|Noble Verse(s) 3:188|
[003:188] Think not that those who exult in what they have brought about, and love to be praised for what they have not done,- think escape the penalty. For them is a penalty Grievous indeed.
Dr. Munir Munshey (one of www.answering-christianity.com's authors):[003:188] Do not think that, those who exult in what they were given, and love to be praised for what they haven’t done (are safe). Do not think that they are exempt from the torment. There exists a painful punishment for them.
Transliteration:[003:188] La tahsabanna allatheena yafrahoona bima ataw wayuhibboona an yuhmadoo bima lam yafAAaloo fala tahsabannahum bimafazatin mina alAAathabi walahum AAathabun aleemun
Arabic (from right to left):3:188 لاتحسبن الذين يفرحون بما اتوا ويحبون ان يحمدوا بما لم يفعلوا فلا تحسبنهم بمفازة من العذاب ولهم عذاب اليم
Sher Ali:[003:188] Think not that those who exult in what they have done, and love to be praised for what they have not done - think not that they are secure from punishment. They shall suffer a grievous chastisement.
Shakir:[003:188] Do not think those who rejoice for what they have done and love that they should be praised for what they have not done -- so do by no means think them to be safe from the chastisement, and they shall have a painful chastisement.
Pickthall:[003:188] Think not that those who exult in what they have given, and love to be praised for what they have not done - Think not, they are in safety from the doom. A painful doom is theirs.
Sale:[003:188] Think not that they who rejoice at what they have done, and expect to be praised for what they have not done; think not, O prophet, that they shall escape from punishment, for they shall suffer a painful punishment;
Muhammad Al-Hilali & Muhsin Khan:[003:188] Think not that those who rejoice in what they have done (or brought about), and love to be praised for what they have not done,- think not you that they are rescued from the torment, and for them is a painful torment.
Palmer:[003:188] Count not that those who rejoice in what they have produced, and love to be praised for what they have not done,- think not that they are in safety from woe,- for them is grievous woe!
Arberry:[003:188] Reckon not that those who rejoice in what they have brought, and love to be praised for what they have not done -- do not reckon them secure from chastisement; for them awaits a painful chastisement.
Khalifa: (why is he here?)[003:188] Those who boast about their works, and wish to be praised for something they have not really done, should not think that they can evade the retribution. They have incurred a painful retribution.
Rodwell:[003:188] Suppose not that they who rejoice in what they have brought to pass, and love to be praised for what they have not done - suppose not they shall escape the chastisement. An afflictive chastisement doth await them,
2- Tuqya (or Taqiyyah) and the permission to lie under special circumstances:
Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, permitted for Muslims to lie under special circumstances. Let us examine those circumstances:
1- Lying to the enemy during war (war is deceit).
2- Not telling the complete Truth if you're trying to reconcile between two people when asked what one said about another during hostile times. In other words, you don't have to narrate the foul words that one said; just narrate the main point.
3- When one is under a threat or danger.
"Humaid b. 'Abd al-Rahman b. 'Auf reported that his mother Umm Kulthum daughter of 'Uqba b. Abu Mu'ait, and she was one amongst the first emigrants who pledged allegiance to Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him), as saying that she heard Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: A liar is not one who tries to bring reconciliation amongst people and speaks good (in order to avert dispute), or he conveys good. Ibn Shihab said he did not hear that exemption was granted in anything what the people speak as lie but in three cases: in battle, for bringing reconciliation amongst persons and the narration of the words of the husband to his wife, and the narration of the words of a wife to her husband (in a twisted form in order to bring reconciliation between them). (Sahih Muslim Book 032, Number 6303)" (Source)
The Bible too allows lying, but in despicable ways. Paul said: "You can spread the Word of God through lying".
(a)- Lying is one of the Signs of the Hypocrite!
Lying is without a doubt frowned upon and condemned in Islam. Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, further said that among the signs of the hypocrite is when he speaks, he lies:
Narrated Abu Huraira: "Allah's Apostle said, "The signs of a hypocrite are three: Whenever he speaks, he tells a lie; and whenever he promises, he breaks his promise; and whenever he is entrusted, he betrays (proves to be dishonest)". (Translation of Sahih Bukhari, Volume 8, Book 73, Number 117)"
Narrated Abu Huraira: "Allah's Apostle said, "The signs of a hypocrite are three: (1) whenever he speaks, he tells a lie, (2) whenever he is entrusted, he proves to be dishonest, (3) whenever he promises, he breaks his promise. (Translation of Sahih Bukhari, Volume 3, Book 48, Number 847)"
Islam does not allow lying, in general. One has to be under very special conditions to justifiably lie. Allah Almighty despises the liars and promises them a Great Punishment in Hell Fire. Also, Allah Almighty Commands the Muslims to invoke the Curse of Allah Almighty upon the liars, in the Glorious Quran.
