Spectral Methods to Study the Numerical Solutions of Fractional Order Differential Equations in Caputo Sense

This topic explores the application of spectral methods in solving fractional-order differential equations (FODEs), specifically in the Caputo sense. Fractional-order differential equations are a generalization of classical integer-order differential equations, offering a more accurate representation of memory and hereditary properties in dynamic systems. This study focuses on developing and applying spectral methods for the numerical solution of fractional-order differential equations in the Caputo sense. By using appropriate basis functions, we aim to derive high-precision approximations of the solutions and analyze their accuracy and efficiency in comparison to traditional methods. The goal is to provide a robust framework for tackling complex fractional-order problems and contribute to the broader understanding and application of fractional calculus in real-world scenarios.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to solve numerically the Caputo fractional initial value problems. For this purpose, we extend the Spectral methods to fully operational matrices approach which is indeed a new approach to solve Caputo fractional initial value problems. The developed approach is based on the operational matrices of fractional Legendre function vectors which are the fractional extensions of classical Legendre polynomials. Some new generalized operational matrices which are based on fractional operators and fractional Legendre functions vectors have also been developed in the present study. In addition to that, the developed approach has ability to transform the fractional problems into a Matrix Equations of Sylvester type which are then solved by using the software MATLAB. Finally, the solution is approximated as basis vectors of fractional Legendre function vectors. Several examples are taken to demonstrate the applicability of the developed approach.

An automated approach for generating MVC-based source code from UML class and sequence diagrams

Model-View-Controller (MVC) is a popular architectural design pattern that organizes software applications into three interconnected components: Model, View, and Controller. This study proposes an automated approach to generate MVC-based source code directly from UML class and sequence diagrams. By automating this conversion, the approach not only streamlines the development process but also minimizes human errors and inconsistencies.

The automation process leverages the detailed structural information in class diagrams to define the Model component and uses the behavioral insights from sequence diagrams to design the Controller and View components. This ensures that the generated code adheres to the MVC architecture while maintaining alignment with the initial design. Additionally, the approach facilitates rapid prototyping and iterative development, making it particularly valuable in modern agile software development environments.

By bridging the gap between the design and implementation phases, this automated approach contributes to improving productivity, enhancing code quality, and reducing the time-to-market for software applications. The importance of automatically generating source code from UML diagrams has grown significantly due to its numerous advantages, including cost savings and enhanced reliability. Automating this process minimizes human errors and ensures better alignment between design models and the resulting code, offering greater consistency. In contrast, manual translation of UML diagrams often fails to provide these benefits and can result in discrepancies.

Previous research has introduced various methods for generating source code from UML class and sequence diagrams. However, these methods often focus on either structural or behavioral code generation, lacking an integrated solution. Furthermore, many of these approaches do not address the automatic creation of backend data or frontend user interfaces.

This research proposes a novel model for generating complete source code that fully implements the Model-View-Controller (MVC) framework, covering all three components: model, view, and controller. The input for this approach uses the XML representation of UML class and sequence diagrams, adhering to the Object Management Group (OMG) standards. By combining both structural and behavioral aspects, our method generates more detailed and higher-quality code compared to existing approaches.

Our solution is designed to be flexible and adaptable to various programming languages, though it primarily focuses on generating source code for Django, a Python-based full-stack framework that follows the MVC architecture. To ensure the quality of the generated code, we address common issues such as long methods and god class code smells. Quality control is maintained through established software metrics to evaluate code maintainability and performance.

To validate the effectiveness of our approach, we conduct functional testing and develop automated test suites. These tests measure the generated code against predefined specifications and expected outcomes, demonstrating the functionality and reliability of our model. This process highlights the superiority of our method over existing solutions and its ability to overcome their limitations, offering a comprehensive and practical approach to source code generation.

The growing trend of significant social and economic changes has made career mobility a prevalent issue. In Pakistan's dairy sector, increasing structural and strategic shifts have led to heightened ambiguity, conflicts, and employee turnover. This study examines how role stressors—such as role ambiguity and role conflict—impact employees' intentions to transition careers, focusing on the mediating role of work engagement.

Data was collected from 292 middle and lower-level employees of small and medium-sized dairy organizations in Pakistan using a 39-item Likert scale questionnaire. A simple random sampling method was employed, and the data was analyzed using Andrew F. Hayes' multiple regression mediation analysis.

The results confirmed both the direct and indirect effects of role stressors on career transition intentions, mediated by work engagement. The findings highlight the significant presence of role ambiguity and conflict within the dairy firms, their impact on employees' work engagement, and how these factors shape their career transition intentions. The study also discusses its limitations and suggests areas for future research.

Abstract


Preventing DoS attacks are critical to avoiding disruptions of the regular services over networks, by being able to identify the attacks when they occur. In the literature there are several methods which enable the detection and prevention of such an attack. However, with the traditional techniques, the attacks with distributed and low-rate strategies are often successful in the absence of control that is not aware of spatio-temporal characteristics of network traffic. In such cases, the attackers attain the total disruption of the services or the network components, or consumption of the available network resources in bandwidth. Traditional DoS detection controls are easily fooled by attack scenarios if the attackers use non-attack traffic patterns or payloads that are spatially distributed. Even the mechanisms involving traffic patterns or payload contents for detecting the attacks cannot safeguard the networks and servers from complicated DoS attacks. These issues are addressed by this research proposal through a proposed usage of DoS detection techniques and Spatio-temporal network traffic features. Knowledge of Spatio-temporal features enables detection controls to determine the attacks that cannot normally be detected using conventional methods including jamming attacks in the wireless networks. Thus, based on the characteristics of the traffic information, MR can use a hybrid model integrating sequential and convolutional machines to extract the corresponding spatio-temporal features. Different from more traditional use such as seasonal probability and long and short term forecasting. The above mentioned methods shall give the prediction of the temporal-spatial characteristics regarding the delay, the pure throughput and the probability density of the jitter. Hence the main objective of this research is to develop an enhanced procedure to identify DoS attacks particularly in cases of low data rate attacks with the availably of Spatio-temporal features of network traffic.
